While the cold weather can be nice and bring out all the hot chocolates and cozy sweaters, it is not nice to your skin! Are you looking for a few things to brighten up your face and bring relief to your entire body?
Your skin is the largest organ and obviously the most exposed to the weather. The cold can make you feel super dry and uncomfortable..
If you’re itching to feel the best in your skin this winter- try these on! Hopefully some of these tips and tricks will fit as well as your coziest sweater.
1: The first on the list, and most important is making sure you are hydrated! While drinking water and electrolyte filled liquids is always the best, maybe add Green Tea into your morning! Green Tea is rich in antioxidants that will allow your skin to repair itself! Antioxidants can also help improve your skin’s elasticity which would allow your skin not to tighten while cold. Drinking juices high in Vitamin C will also improve radiance to combat skin looking dull due to the weather.
2: Jump into your favorite hot yoga class! While the heat is high, so is the humidity. Just like your favorite facials- the room supplies great humidity which helps prevent your skin from drying out! A great PM hot yoga class followed by a moisture rich skin care routine before bed will bring new life to dry skin!
3: Check out some of our favorite estheticians! One of our sweet friends, Monica Lyons has a Spa where she offers amazing facials year round! She says “Winter skin is THE BEST for repairing skin from summer damage. Getting a facial will help minimize hyperpigmentation/ sunspots, rehydrate skin, and brighten. Winter is the time for enzyme masks, chemical peels, and harsher exfoliants. Your skin is your forever outfit. Be kind to it!” You can find her on Instagram @thelyonsdenspa to book an appointment or talk to her in the studio. She teaches a great yoga class!
Stephanie Hernandez with Glam Glow is another great friend and fellow yogi. She has been working in Temecula as an esthetician for 19 years and agrees facials are a big part of keeping your skin looking its best! She suggests monthly facials to polish dead skin and help move stagnant blood and lymph. Stephanie is passionate about her business and stays educated with the latest science in skin care to bring you the best corrective facials and beauty. Find her on Instagram Stephanie with GlamGlow
4: Coconut Oil. Take it with you in the shower! Before you towel off rub it all over your body. This is so easy and a must for an all over healthy glow! Great to shave with too! Be sure to check the ingredients, you don’t want the fake stuff full of fillers, should be one ingredient! ( AND don’t get the one for cooking ) Sprouts or Organic Roots has plenty to choose from. Here is one of our favs NOW Solutions Coconut Oil
5: Another one of our favorites is this cream! Rapid Repair Cream from Organic Body Essentials! This cream is an absolute treat for the dry skin on your hands, cuticles, elbows, knees, feet, etc. The ingredients in this repair cream provide rapid results on ultra-dry skin (approximately 2 weeks) OBE is a small hand made skincare brand started in San Clemente!

Start your skincare small by shopping small! Plus the above suggestions make great gifts. I mean who wouldn’t want hot yoga or a facial for the holidays!
